Colfax appoints new city clerk

The Colfax City Council approved a resolution May 13 appointing Gabrielle Christakes as the new city clerk. Colfax City Manager Ron Walker confirmed staff recommended the appointment following a recruitment and interview process. The staff report notes Christakes was unanimously ranked as the top candidate by the interview panel. "Gabrielle comes with prior city clerk experience and lots of finance experience, so she'll be able to help out all over the board," Walker said. According to the staff report, Christakes also has experience in human resources. Following Walker's introduction, Christakes introduced herself to the council. "I look forward to serving you, the city of Colfax and joining this small but mighty team," she said. The council approved Christakes' appointment in a unanimous vote and welcomed her to the team. Christakes stepped into her new position on May 18.
