Search continues for Colfax man

Search efforts continue in relation to 83-year-old John Liebhauser, who was last seen on June 5. Liebhauser was previously in contact with his family and was reported missing by a concerned neighbor after they had not seen or heard from him. The Placer County Sheriff's Office confirmed Liebhauser's vehicle and phone were later located at his Colfax residence. Elise Soviar, the communications manager for the Sheriff's Office, confirmed Liebhauser is still missing as of Tuesday morning and search efforts are continuing. Search and Rescue teams, with two scent-tracking dog teams, are searching areas in and around Colfax, including areas Liebhauser is known to frequent. According to the Sheriff's Office, Liebhauser enjoys walking and hiking in the area, and is known to visit Stephens Trail. Investigators are also reviewing surveillance video and following up on leads to determine Liebhauser's whereabouts. The Sheriff's Office confirmed there is currently no evidence indicating where Liebhauser may have gone and there is no confirmed starting point for the search. Liebhauser is described as standing 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing about 175 pounds. He has blue eyes and gray hair. Soviar confirmed no foul play is suspected.
