Folsom Pro Rodeo celebrates 65 years of western tradition during America's 250th birthday

The Folsom Pro Rodeo is saddling up for its biggest celebration yet as it marks its 65th anniversary during one of the most historic years in American history. From Thursday through Saturday, July 2-4, thousands of fans will gather at Dan Russell Rodeo Arena for three unforgettable nights of world-class rodeo competition, thrilling entertainment, patriotic tributes and spectacular nightly fireworks as America celebrates its 250th birthday. Since 1960, the Folsom Pro Rodeo has been a cornerstone of the community, honoring the ranching heritage and western spirit that helped shape the region while evolving into one of California's premier Fourth of July traditions. This year's milestone anniversary promises to be the most exciting yet. "Sixty-five years ago, a group of community leaders created a rodeo that celebrated Folsom's western roots and brought families together," said Joe Gagliardi, CEO of Choose Folsom. "Today, that vision continues stronger than ever. As we celebrate both our 65th anniversary and America's semiquincentennial, we are proud to deliver an event that honors tradition while creating unforgettable memories for a new generation." The 2026 Folsom Pro Rodeo will feature elite Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association-sanctioned competition, showcasing some of the nation's top cowboys and cowgirls competing for prize money and championship points in events including: • Bull Riding • Saddle Bronc Riding • Bareback Riding • Barrel Racing • Team Roping • Tie-Down Roping • Breakaway Roping • Steer Wrestling • Mutton Bustin' for future rodeo stars • Special rodeo entertainment throughout the evening Adding even more excitement to the arena, the crowd-favorite Flying Cowboys Moto Cross Team will return to Folsom, soaring high above the arena floor with gravity-defying jumps, aerial stunts and heart-stopping tricks that have become one of the rodeo's signature attractions. Each night concludes with a spectacular patriotic fireworks and laser show, illuminating the Folsom sky in celebration of Independence Day and America's 250th birthday. Combined with stirring patriotic ceremonies, military tributes and one of the largest American flags seen in the region, the Folsom Pro Rodeo continues its legacy as a celebration of country and community.
