Argument leaves 1 dead in Rancho Cordova

A violent call came from Rancho Cordova early Sunday morning with reports of four or five people near an intersection and a fight in progress. Sacramento County Sheriff's deputies responded to the call at around 1 a.m. in the intersection of El Mercado Drive and Chettenham Drive, where they witnessed an argument. Sheriff's officials said when deputies arrived, they found two injured adult males. Deputies called for help from the fire department, so they could provide immediate medical aid to those who were injured. The fire crew arrived on scene, and one adult male with what appeared to be a stab wound was pronounced dead. Another adult male suffered injuries from a laceration to the head and was taken to a hospital. Several other people were in the area at the time of the incident and were interviewed, according to Sheriff's officials.
