Bacchus House hosts Murer House Foundation fundraiser dinner

Nearly 80 supporters of the Historic Murer House Foundation gathered at Bacchus House Bistro in Folsom on June 25 for an evening dedicated to preserving and expanding one of the community's treasured cultural landmarks. Guests were welcomed with champagne by Bacchus House owner Eric Adams and his staff before mingling among an array of silent auction offerings, including a six-person stay in Cabo, a group fishing excursion, jewelry, wine and olive oil tastings, and a private dinner experience. An almost life-size, elegantly attired Mark Roberts-designed Santa holding his favorite ornament was donated by Adams. The fundraising dinner highlighted the foundation's ongoing campaign to rebuild its popular Learning Center on the grounds of the historic Murer House. The house, recognized on the National Register of Historic Places since 2022, serves as a center for preserving and celebrating Italian heritage in the region. The Learning Center hosts more than 35 classes and programs annually, including Italian cooking classes, educational workshops, bocce tournaments and seasonal garden events that attract residents from throughout the region. Foundation leaders shared their vision for a new and expanded facility that will allow the organization to continue offering educational and cultural programs while preserving the legacy of the Murer family and the rich Italian heritage they brought to Folsom. In addition, Anthony Scotch said, "I would like to thank all the volunteers for their support of our fundraising event.
