10 for 10: Mitchell records 5th Late Model sweep at All American Speedway

Kenna Mitchell of Loomis remained perfect in the NASCAR Late Model division at All American Speedway, earning her ninth and 10th victories of the 2026 season Saturday night. The twin 40 sweep highlighted seven main events before the largest crowd of the season in Roseville. For the second consecutive event, Madera's Joey Kennealy earned the pole, but Mitchell recovered from an early drop to third to reclaim second by lap seven. Mitchell ran down Kennealy for the top spot by lap 19 while Long Beach's Donald Witkowski drove into third. Oakdale's Hayden Stepps spun in turn 2, collecting Modesto's Mike Beeler and Lincoln's Kylie Glick for a caution. Kennealy chose the inside on the restart, but Mitchell edged ahead after four laps of side-by-side racing to take the lead on lap 27. A caution flew after Auburn's Colton Nelson and Glick collided in turn 3, but Mitchell led the rest of the way to win the first 40-lap feature, followed by Kennealy, Witkowski, Joey Iest of Madera and Shelden Cooper of Madera. An eight-car invert shook up the second feature. Cooper led the first 17 laps before Nelson took over but later spun after contact with Glick while battling for fourth. On the ensuing restart, Nelson held the lead as Kennealy challenged Witkowski for second before the pair collided to bring out another caution on lap 29. Nelson then faced off with Mitchell on the following restart and held her off to keep the lead. A debris caution tightened the action again on lap 30, and Mitchell pounced, roaring past Nelson on the outside. Witkowski was undeterred in his comeback as well, charging through the field to challenge Nelson for second. A bump-and-run moved Witkowski into second place on lap 38 and cost Nelson several positions exiting turn 4. Mitchell completed a successful sweep with a 2.7-second advantage at the stripe. Witkowski finished second, followed by Iest, Kennealy and Nelson. Tony Hunt won his fourth NCMA Sprint Car main event of the year in the 30-lap Bob Dias Memorial. Hunt drove into the lead by the third lap and never relinquished it. His race was nearly ended when Tylor Amador of Ceres slowed and slid across the front stretch with an apparent steering issue. Amador and Hunt made hard contact, but Hunt was able to continue. The final seven laps went caution free with Hunt accumulating a 1.2-second lead over points leader Shauna Hogg of Fair Oaks. Ceres' Tony Amador finished third, followed by David Dias of Sacramento and Dan Gonderman of Antioch. Kris Price charged from the rear of the NASCAR Modified field to win the 30-lap feature worth $750, prevailing in a physical battle with Scott Winters of Tracy. Winters finished second in his first Roseville start in five years, followed by 2025 champion Tyler Wentworth, Jose Hernandez and Timm Williams. Chad Nascimento of Manteca won his first Roseville INEX Legends feature in the caution-free 30-lap race. Friday winner Rick Andersen of North Highlands finished second to maintain the points lead, followed by Turlock's Antonio Gonzales, his brother Santana and 12-year-old Tate Hegje. Champions made up the top three finishers in the NASCAR Street Stocks with Josh Whitfield winning the 30-lap race. 2025 champion Tim Walters won a spirited duel with former champion Rich Lavallee for second, while 2025 Stockton race winner Sam Reynolds and Laytonville's Raymond Taylor Jr. rounded out the top five. A 14-car field took the green flag for the NASCAR Mini Stock feature, where 2025 champion John Sproule capitalized after the top two drivers in the standings ran into trouble. Points leader Vic Theberge of Citrus Heights was collected in a crash after spinning, and Brandon Frantz of Lincoln slowed with mechanical issues. Ray Molina of Elverta also spun while avoiding a slower car, setting up a green-white-checkered finish. Sproule dominated the final two laps to win with Molina recovering for second. Stockton's Isaiah Solimine finished third, followed by Dan Cherry and Casey McLeod. All American Speedway is gearing up for its two biggest events of the season on back-to-back weekends. The ARCA Menards Series West competes in the NAPA Auto Parts 150 on Sept. 5, which also serves as Roseville's championship and Hall of Fame night.
