Folsom Sea Otters Finish Outstanding 2026 Season with Championship SuccessThe Folsom Sea Otters, a parent-run recreational swim team serving swimmers ages 4–18, wrapped up another outstanding summer season filled with personal bests, championship performances, and incredible team spirit. With nearly 400 swimmers, the Sea Otters focus on developing confident swimmers through quality coaching, sportsmanship, teamwork, and fun in a positive family environment. Outstanding Performances at the SSL ChampionshipsThe 2026 summer season concluded in late July after a successful campaign in the Suburban Swim League (SSL). Competing against more than 1,400 entries from eight league teams, an impressive 83.4 percent of Folsom swimmers improved in at least one event, highlighting the team's commitment to growth and development. Individual League ChampionsEileen Li – Multi-event champion.Laney Barr-Wood – Breaststroke champion.Kyron Gulley – Four-time league champion and SSL record holder.Carson Schlange – Backstroke champion.Julian Myers Calderon – New FSO freestyle and backstroke record holder. SSL High Point Award WinnersAddalyn Smith, Carson Schlange, Eileen Li, Kyron Gulley, and Julian Myers Calderon each earned prestigious SSL high point honors. The Sea Otters finished fifth overall, with every swimmer contributing through personal bests, determination, and exceptional team spirit. Meet of Champions SuccessThe season concluded at the 24th Annual Meet of Champions, featuring 51 teams. Competing in the small team division, the Sea Otters earned an outstanding second place out of 36 teams. Individual ChampionsEileen Li captured the short freestyle title while earning multiple podium finishes.Kyron Gulley swept all six individual events, setting new Meet of Champions, SSL, and FSO records. High Point Award WinnersEileen Li and Kyron Gulley each captured Meet of Champions High Point titles. Additional Top-16 FinishersOutstanding top-16 performances were also turned in by Carson Schlange, Caleb Hannahs, CeCe Mirmomeni-Cespedes, Zachery Chen, Declan Pomeroy, Colin Li, Caleb Wong, Armani Rizk, Eddie Sharp, and Austin Barr-Wood, showcasing the impressive depth of the Sea Otters across every age group. A Remarkable SeasonFrom first-time swimmers to record-breaking veterans, the Folsom Sea Otters demonstrated exceptional growth, resilience, and competitive excellence throughout the 2026 season. The accomplishments at both the SSL Championships and the Meet of Champions reflect the dedication of the athletes, coaches, volunteers, and families who make the Sea Otters one of the premier recreational swim programs in the region. The excitement continues this fall with the Folsom Sea Otters Fall Swim Clinic, beginning August 31 at the Folsom Aquatics Center. Open to swimmers ages 7–18 with previous swim team experience, the clinic offers technique-focused training with the Folsom Sea Otters coaching staff.
