Larson ready to lead Bulldogs

Folsom senior receiver Rob Larson had an exceptional junior season. He's hoping for an even bigger season his senior year. A year ago, Larson caught 82 passes for 1,146 yards and 18 touchdowns. Those numbers will be tough to beat, but considering the team's other top four receivers Jameson Powell, Isaiah Williams, Jason Hill Jr. and Jayden Padgett graduated, he's by far the team's top returning receiver. He will be quarterback Brody Rudnicki's top target. "Personally, my goals are to just help the team as much as I possibly can and to get over or close to the single season reception record at Folsom," Larson said. Folsom's record for most catches and most receiving yards in a season belongs to J'Juan Muldrow, who hauled in an amazing 122 catches for 1,895 yards in 2011. Cole Thompson has the record for most touchdown catches in a season with 34 in 2014. Those are some big numbers to shoot for. Without his friends from last year, Larson will be the center of attention for opposing defenses. "I'm not worried about that because I know we have a lot of talented guys on the field and even if they don't know them yet they will and it's going to be hard for defenses to focus on one guy specifically with all the other pieces we have," Larson said. Larson worked hard in the offseason to improve himself as an athlete and a receiver. "My offseason was great," Larson said. "I have put on a lot of muscle and I feel faster than I have been before. I'm about 200 pounds right now and I feel better in every aspect of my game currently." As for helping the team as much as possible, Larson hopes he and his teammates have a very long and successful season. "This team will go as far as we want to take it," Larson said. "I think we are very mature and we have looked better and better each week of practice and I know we have the potential to go back-to-back this year." P.S.
