Hit and run suspect takes Lincoln Police on 115 mph pursuit, ends in multi-agency manhunt

A high-speed police pursuit through Lincoln ended in a crash, followed by a multi-agency manhunt and the arrest of a 34-year-old man on Aug. 28. Placer County Jail records identify the suspect at Tisiah Prout, who was booked into the South Placer Jail around 12:25 a.m. According to the Lincoln Police Department, officers attempted to detain Prout due to his connection to an earlier hit-and-run crash before he fled. Police radio traffic indicated Prout ran stop signs and red lights as officers followed. Prout reportedly reached speeds up to 100 miles per hour on West Wise Road before reaching 115 mph southbound on Gladding Road. During the pursuit, it was reported that an uninvolved vehicle crashed while taking evasive action to avoid a collision with Prout. The condition of that driver is unknown. Prout eventually crashed in the Gladding Road area, abandoning his vehicle and fleeing on foot, triggering an extensive multi-agency manhunt involving the Lincoln Police Department, Rocklin Police Department and the Placer County Sheriff's Office. Aerial resources and drones assisted with the search. The search ended when officers narrowed Prout's location to a garage on H Street in Lincoln, where he was reportedly hiding in the rafters. Prout was taken into custody at 6:58 p.m. without further incident. Prout was later transported for medical clearance before being booked into the South Placer Jail. The Placer County Jail booking record lists two groups of charges against Prout including evading a police officer while driving the wrong way, evading a peace officer with disregard for safety, committing a felony while on bail (related to a previous arrest), obstructing and resisting an executive officer, hit and run with property damage and driving with a license suspended for test refusal. The online arrest report also lists a second group of felony charges of first-degree burglary and conspiracy. Prout is ineligible for bail and was scheduled to be arraigned at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, in Placer County Superior Court.
