Circus Vargas is back and better than ever.

Circus Vargas is back and better than ever with its current tour stop right here in Folsom, performing shows from Sept. 4 through 21. With a 26-member cast hailing from 15 different countries, Circus Vargas brings some of the best talent in the world under one tent to entertain audiences by featuring the finest in acrobatics, dance, comedy, art, singing and music. The troupe will also feature the death-defying acts of high-wire walkers and the globe of death, where motorcyclists lock themselves into a spherical cage and ride along the interior, at times being fully inverted. The show is being led by none other than Ringmaster Johnathan Lee Iverson, who in 1998 made history by being both the youngest and first African American ringmaster for Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus.Owner and Artistic Director Katya Arata-Quiroga, along with her husband, took ownership of Circus Vargas in 2005 and has a family history of performing and producing circus acts and shows going back generations. Arata-Quiroga's youngest daughter is a member of the cast as an eighth-generation circus performer. Circus Vargas has received rave reviews from audiences all over California and was chosen as the best circus in San Diego by sandiego.com. Speaking in anticipation of the upcoming Folsom shows, Arata-Quiroga said, "We are excited to be able to come to this community as we were just recently in Roseville, which was amazing, but we are happy to come to local communities so people don't have to drive 30 miles to see the circus."Arata-Quiroga said tickets will sell out fast and advised residents to make their purchases as early as possible. Senior and military discounts are available as well. All Folsom shows will be performed at 745 Oak Avenue Parkway in Folsom.
