Rancho Cordova man arrested in relation to Placer County human trafficking operation

A Rancho Cordova man was arrested in relation to a Placer County human trafficking operation in June. The Placer County Sheriff's Office confirmed Special Operations detectives contacted and arrested a woman who was engaged in sex work during the operation. Detectives continued to look into the case and learned the suspect, identified as Isaiah Antonio Munoz, 25, was encouraging and helping facilitate the sex work while financially benefitting from it. Detectives assisted Roseville Police Department CSU detectives with another human trafficking operation in July and contacted the same woman. According to the Sheriff's Office, the investigation showed Munoz was still encouraging and facilitating her involvement in sex work. Munoz was located and arrested in Elk Grove on Aug. 27 with assistance from CHP, the Sacramento County Sheriff's office and the Roseville Police Department. Munoz was booked into the Placer County Jail on pimping and pandering charges. According to the online in-custody report, Munoz is ineligible for bail and scheduled to appear in court at 8: 30 a.m. on Sept. 9 in Department 31 of the Placer County Superior Court in Roseville.
