Greater Auburn Fire Safe Council hosting California insurance representative

The Greater Auburn Fire Safe Council holds monthly meetings the public is welcome to attend. Our area serves Auburn, North Auburn, Christian Valley, Newcastle and Penryn. In the meetings, the fire safe council hears from CAL FIRE, Auburn Fire Department, Placer Hills Fire Department, Bureau of Reclamation and other stakeholders who contribute to making the area more fire resilient. The fire safe council address current initiatives, and there is an opportunity to ask questions and bring up concerns. October's meeting will feature Durriya Syed, outreach analyst for the Community Relations and Outreach Branch of the California Department of Insurance. The focus will be on what is being done to improve the home insurance situation for homeowners. This meeting is about progress and solutions rather than a time to voice concerns about current constraints. The meeting will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15 at in Jeff Brown Room #1 of the Health and Human Services Building located at 11434 B Avenue on the Placer County Government Center. Signs will be posted. The Greater Auburn Fire Safe Council will alternate meetings between the Placer County Government Center off Bell Road and Auburn City Hall (subject to change). Current dates are the third Thursday of each month at 10 a.m. (with a possible break in December). Please join if you are interested in learning how the Greater Auburn Fire Safe Council is working to increase the number of Firewise Communities, collaborate with local agencies, educate our citizens on fire safety practices and more.
