Roseville blanks Del Campo, 64-0

Roseville ripped Del Campo on Friday night, winning the football game, 64-0. The win improved Roseville's record to 4-5 overall and to 2-2 in the Foothill Valley League. Roseville finishes the regular season with a road game at Placer (7-2, 2-2) on Friday night. It's been a difficult season for the Tigers, so Friday night's win at home was a nice way to finish off their regular season home football season. The Tigers have slowly but steadily improved with each week of the season, culminating with Friday's big win. The week began with a position change, as quarterback Hunter Felkins moved to slot receiver and Colten Reaume took Felkins spot behind the center. Both players played well in their new positions, as Reaume completed 6-of-10 passes for 123 yards and one touchdown, while Felkins caught one pass for 49 yards and ran the ball three other times for 45 yards and one touchdown. "We made a change at quarterback," Roseville coach Adam Reinking said. "Hunter and Colten are two of our better offensive players. We felt like Hunter had peaked and we wanted to move him to the slot where he can help us there and Colten could play quarterback. We wanted to utilize all of our assets. Colten did a good job of throwing the ball and Hunter did a good job at Z, as he had close to 100 yards of offense. "Our offensive line has gotten better every week and this was a win the team needed. We've been working so hard and we've played some extremely good teams that were better than us. For us to come out and execute and not hurt ourselves with self-inflicted moves was great to see." In a game like this a lot of kids contributed. Roseville scored nine touchdowns and no one scored more than once. The Tigers had seven touchdown runs from seven different players: Mateo Martinez, Jordan Watson, Brycen Sanders, Felkins, Antonio Hopson, Cash Fischer and Jude Navarro. Martinez led all running backs with 78 yards rushing, while Watson ran for 57 and Sanders rushed for 54 yards. Reaume also threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Ethan Katterhorn, while Michael Pixton had a 23-yard interception return for a score. Pixton also scored a safety in the first quarter for the Tigers. "I think every senior skill guy scored which was nice," Reinking said. "Our defense obviously played well. They've been the backbone of the team all year. "This win helps us and gives us confidence going into our game against Placer."
