It's almost time to lace up the skates: Folsom Historic Ice Rink returns

One of the most anticipated and cherished parts of Folsom's holiday season is making a grand return: The Historic Folsom Ice Rink opens on Nov. 7 and runs through Jan. 18. The unique rink will bring holiday lights and outdoor skating to the Historic Folsom Plaza with a variety of events planned throughout the holiday season. Every Saturday morning will be dedicated to skate school, from 8:45-9:15 a.m., but there are other times dedicated to learning more about skating for all ages, from young children to adults. There are also a wide range of themed events planned, such as the Nov. 16 "Princess and Superhero" day, a Thanksgiving PJ party day and donation days for Twin Lakes Food Bank and the Christmas in Folsom coat drive. The rink features private fire pits right near the skating action which can be rented; visitors can add a s'mores kit for a fireside treat.
