EDH Wrestling Club places 13th at TOC

El Dorado Hills Wrestling Club members won 19 matches at Saturday's Middle School Tournament of Champions held at Del Oro High School to place 13th overall.The TOC is the middle school equivalent of the high school Masters tournament and is considered the pinnacle of California wrestling. Wrestlers become eligible for the TOC tournament by placing in a series of qualifier tournaments throughout the season. Rolling Hills seventh grader Brandon Claiborne led the charge by winning six of seven matches and placed third in the 108-pound weight class. Eighth grade team members Josh Ploke (83 pounds), Jordan Undseth (128 pounds) and Josh Ferry (153 pounds) just missed the opportunity to wrestle for medals.Upperclassmen Ryan Redhair (108 pounds), Jake Plaskon (118 pounds) and Josh Brown made their first TOC trips, Redhair reached the quarterfinals before bowing out and Brown and Plaskon added to the team totals. Sixth graders Jack Likins (76 pounds) and Jacob Flores (83 pounds) both had wins that added points to the team results. Colton Lamson qualified in the 108-pound class. Claiborne, Ferry, Likins, Plaskon and Undseth all bumped up their point contributions with wins by pin.
