Shooter deserves no sympathy for incident

This is a reply to the letter by Keith Henry in regards to his friend Gary Bortis. Murder is never the answer to a person's woes. I personally know how the murder of a family member can shatter your life and the lives of everyone who is involved, be it family or friends.Obliviously, Mr. Bortis let his temper get the best of him when he shot Lawrence Ficarra not once but several times. He unloaded his gun on his neighbor. And, we are to feel sorry for him? I don't think so. Now, Mr. Henry is pleading for financial help for this murderer. He doesn't deserve any more of a chance than he gave his neighbor. The jury will decide whether he lives or dies, and at the taxpayers' expense. So, my thought is everyone pays or suffers because this man decides to kill another man. He wasn't defending himself and his family by killing his neighbor. He was getting even, settling the score, plain and simple. Murder is a sin, and is never right in the eyes of God or any decent human being. "You do the crime, you do the time."Patricia WelkerLoomis
