Lehman takes over Sun City fitness program

Elaine Lehman, despite her tender 29 years, may be the perfect fit for an active retirement community like Sun City Roseville.Lehman, who is the new fitness center director at Sun City facility, is an exercise physiologist with many years of experience in preventative health care, particularly working with seniors.She replaces Sharon Pauser, who resigned to move to Southern California."I grew up in a family that had a lot of physical health problems that could be eased by proper diet and exercise," said Lehman, who said that piqued her interest in the health field as a career.The Erie, Pa., native earned a bachelor's degree in kinesiology from Penn State and a master's in adult fitness from the University of Wisconsin.She worked in several hospitals in Seattle before moving to Sacramento and working at Mercy San Juan Hospital.Lehman said she arrived in Sacramento with a husband and a dog.Her husband, Brett, is a geologist with Earth Tech, a Sacramento environmental company.Once an active tennis player, Lehman admits she doesn't get out on the court quite as much as she once did. "I do a lot more running, biking, skiing and snowboarding," she said.She has been impressed with the facilities at Sun City Roseville. "They have a well-rounded fitness program.
