Man charged with attempted murder after fight in apartment parking lot

A Roseville man was arrested and charged with attempted murder after he allegedly stabbed a man in the face, officials said.Robert Daniel Carter, 28, was taken into custody by Roseville Police officers about 7:45 p.m. Feb. 4 at an apartment complex in the 1800 block of Eureka Road, a police spokesperson said.The victim was a 40-year-old Roseville man who had slapped a car parked in the complex fire lane, police spokesperson Dee Dee Gunther said.The car owner and a friend saw this from an upstairs balcony and allegedly came to the parking lot and attacked the man, Gunther said.Phillip Padilla, 36, of Sacramento allegedly punched the victim in the face and Carter reportedly stabbed the victim in the face with a knife.The victim was treated and released from a local hospital, Gunther said.Carter is being held on $50,000 bail in the Placer County Jail. Padilla is being held on $25,000 bail.
