Del Oro girls take first at track invitational

The Del Oro High School girls edged Placer High School for first place while the Placer boys took second place just ahead of Del Oro at the Bella Vista Invitational held Oct. 18 in Folsom.Junior Shannon Harcus won the girls race, finishing the five-kilometer course in 19 minutes, 46 seconds. Sophomore Kirby Riecks was 12th in 20:51 and Mariah Miles took 23rd in 21:51. Sierra White finished 26th in 22:02 and Caty O'Connor was 29th in 22:06.Junior Alissa Hood led the Golden Eagles with a second place finish in 20:15. Emma Freeman (20:31) placed fourth. Cait Devitt Payne (20:44) was ninth and Jessie Rozario (20:44) took 10th. Kelsey Seaman (21:36) rounded out the Eagles' top five with a 20th place showing.On the boys side, Del Oro was paced by sophmore Nathan Paddeck (17:26), who was eighth. Senior Tyler Spangler (17:33) took 11th.
