Travel, cooking classes at Murer House

Cooking and travel classes will be offered at the Murer House Learning Center in Folsom. Food specialist Susan Brooking together with California Olive Ranch will give a presentation on olive oil at 10 a.m. Saturday.Students will participate in a five-part comparative tasting, choose their favorite oil to dress a salad of simple greens and sample a heart-healthy olive oil cake. Cost is $20. A presentation on traveling in Italy's Veneto Region will at 1 p.m. Saturday.Norma Andrighetto-Petta, author and travel guide, will offer suggestions on traveling to this region. Cost is $5."The Delicious Revolution: An Introduction to the Slow Food Movement and Local Foods of Late Spring" will be presented at 9 a.m. May 27.Nancjo Riekse will discuss the importance of eating within your "food shed."Space is limited for all classes at the Murer Center.
