Thomas Joe Phipps

Born in Ellensburg, Washington, Thomas spent most of his childhood in Auburn, CA attending Bowman Elementary School and Placer High School. Active in Boy Scouts of America and Placer High drama class productions and choir until graduation in 1976. Joined the U.S. Navy in 1977, where he continued electronics training he'd started at Placer High. Worked in the electronics industry in Sacramento, Brentwood and Portland, Oregon until his return to Auburn and employment with Gyrohouse in 2004.He is survived by his wife, Karen of Auburn; son Thomas Joseph of Sacramento; daughters Kathleen Andrade of Stockton and Kelly Lacey of Sacramento; parents Thomas and Christine Phipps of Auburn; brothers Teddie Phipps of Glenn's Ferry, Idaho and Don Bailey of Nampa, Idaho; and sisters Jeanne Ottenstroer of Delta Junction, Alaska, Winona Bakarich of Glendale, CA and Kathleen Kennedy of Folsom, CA.Memorial services will be held at Lassila Funeral Chapel, 551 Grass Valley Highway, Auburn on Friday, April 15, at 1 PM.
