Hypocritical to claim 'Deep Throat' a hero

W. Mark Felt has finally come out and is now willing to identify himself as the "DeepThroat" character who is generally credited with supplying critical evidence that brought down the Nixon administration, Journal, June 1. Congratulations mister Felt! But if Mark Felt is the hero the left would like to make him out to be, then Linda Tripp is just as much a hero for the same reason. Both these folks held government jobs when they decided to come forward with the evidence that they possessed. Both were interested in bringing a lie out into the light for everyone to see, but Tripp has been thoroughly vilified by the left because she was exposing Bill Clinton, their champion. The biggest difference between the two cases is how Mr. Richard Nixon had the decency to step down and save the country a lot more needless shame. Clinton was exposed as the liar that he is just as much as Nixon was, but Clinton has no shame and decided to continue embarrassing his wife, daughter, and the rest of us for his own selfish reasons. Actually, I'm not sure his wife was shamed or embarrassed, but that's another sad topic that can be more closely examined later - like say, in about two-and-a-half years from now! If Felt is held up as a national hero for his deeds, then Tripp is owed a huge apology from a lot of Democrats, but I'm not holding my breath.Greg A. CalacLincoln
